RIP inspiron 1000

Well, hello there folks. You haven't heard from me for a while and i guarantee you that there is a good reason for such. My old lappy, the dear ol' dell inspiron 1000 that has served me

(relatively)

well for the past three years or so finally crapped out on me pretty much permanently. You see, the cooling system has been acting up for a few months now: overheating and shutting down at inconvenient times; not getting adequate ventilation even when it does have adequate ventilation; etc. Well, the damn thing finally decided to once and for all take a shotgun mouthwash--it overheated while checking for spyware and said overheating really, really fucked up windows, it would seem. So, considering the fact that the mac really doesn't have reliable internet and all of the wireless shit for the dell is windows-only, i am without internet and really have been for the past month or so. So the videos are gonna be on hold for quite a while unfortunately.

In other news, this past saturday, i went to new york city for the first time. We went to MOMA and the national design museum and tried to go to the whitney, but the line just to get into the goddamn building was outside and nearly in an L-shape to the street. So we declined to even bother with that.

On sunday,

and i went to rittenhouse park with alex to hand out surveys to help with their senior thesis. You know what we learned? People are fucking assholes. An hour of work and the three of us only got twenty-four people to fill out the survey. Now this wasn't some four-page, uber-inquisitive behemoth of a survey or anything; it was less than a page long, multiple choice and took about a minute to fill out. So we left that little adventure with our respective faiths in humanity severely damaged. However, on the way home, we walked through the philly green fest, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. We saw the fashion show (or one of them at least), beck's teacher tony, and we caught the very end of a kick-ass concert by a band called cloud cult. They were kick-ass enough that, even though we had only heard one song of theirs, we bought a whole fucking CD.
